Tibor Szilveszter is a Hungarian composer, pianist, and one of the bandleaders behind Blue Bonsai. Inspired by his childhood in Romania’s forests, his music evokes stillness, introspection, and raw connection. Tibor’s sound explores energy, form, and the quiet power of the present moment. His main musical inspirations are from New York minimalism, free jazz, and improvisational music.

Tibor Szilveszter weaves a repetitive, evolving fabric of Blue Bonsai's sound: subtle yet grounding motifs that carry the atmosphere from one thread to the next, creating space for the music to unfold organically.

Dāvids Eglītis is the drummer of Blue Bonsai. Originally trained as a classical pianist, he discovered his true voice behind the drums at age 14. His playing is defined by emotional depth and a wide dynamic range, moving effortlessly between delicate textures and explosive power.

Rooted in presence and intuition, Dāvids approaches each performance as a real-time conversation: shaped by the moment. Outside of Blue Bonsai, he is active in projects across genres, from jazz to rock and experimental music, both in Latvia and the Netherlands.

Zalán Berta is a Hungarian bass guitarist and composer whose musical roots lie in metal music, improvisation and spiritual traditions. Grounded in a personal practice of Daoism and Zen, he brings a unique depth to Blue Bonsai.

He serves as the anchor of the group: his playstyle forms a steady, balanced yet powerful foundation over which the other voices can freely evolve. Through his basslines, Zalán creates a meditative thread that bridges raw intensity with subtle stillness.
